The Holidays are a magical time of the year, but time is of the essence. I have shared some of my fabulous holiday recipes that pair well with some outstanding Napa Valley wines. Question: Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without sweet potatoes. Do you have a personal recipe you could share with me? Mike Libertyville, IL
 

Hi Mike, thanks for your interest. I am happy to share my recipe for Sweet Mashed Potatoes with Maple Syrup and Marshmallows.

Ingredients:

2.5 lbs of sweet potatoes

4 ounces of pure maple syrup

2 sticks of butter (1/2 cup)

1 cup of heavy cream

1/3 bag of marshmallows

¾ Tbsp pure vanilla extract

sprinkle of nutmeg (to taste) sprinkle of cinnamon (to taste)

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Bake the sweet potatoes whole, at 350°F, for 30 minutes or until cooked through (the potatoes should be very soft and easily pierced by a fork).
2. Once the potatoes are cooked, let them cool, and then peel them.

5. Mash the potatoes.
6. Melt the butter into the cream in a small saucepan on the stove, over low heat.
7. Combine the potatoes with cream & melted butter, the pure maples syrup, and the pure vanilla extract.
8. Salt & Pepper to taste, stir.
9. Sprinkle your desired amount of cinnamon and nutmeg, stir.
10. Place the ingredients into a casserole dish, and top with the marshmallows.
11. Cover the casserole with tine foil.

Question: Would I be able to use turkey bacon rather than applewood smoked bacon in the Guinea Hen Breast Wrapped in Applewood Smoked Bacon recipe? Brian, Milwaukee WI
Answer: Although this recipe does call for applewood smoked bacon you can subsitute with turkey bacon. Thank you for your question!

Question: I am hosting thanksgiving this year for the very first time. What size turkey would you recommend serving for 15 people? Vanessa, Denver CO
Answer: Great question! I would recommend cooking a 15-18 pound bird which will leave you with enough meat for leftovers. Good luck with your dinner.
