"It's been seven long years since our last Napa trip. Yes, we'll drink wine at home, but we dream as we sip. Of our next chance to visit the great "country of wine" here is why Napa Valley is a favorite of mine: A beautiful sunset as we drink chardonnay overlooking a vineyard on a crisp autumn day. A tour and a tasting from the winemaker himself! Who allows us
to sample from his "private reserve" shelf. An elegant lunch at a Yountville cafe, with fresh local produce and a refreshing rose. A winery bike ride, but should we have hired a car? It is hard to go straight after too much Pinot Noir! To the grocery in Oakville for a picnic selection Paired with beautiful scenery, this is indeed perfection! A new favorite wine when you turn the wrong way and find a Rutherford vineyard with a bold Cabernet.
Shopping for olive oils and all things gourmet, a relaxing massage at the end of the day. And though it is said to leave Napa, thoughts of future visits bring cheers because like a fine wine, Napa Valley gets better each year!"
